This young man just turned 11! 

He is such a joy and delight to us. 

I am so very thankful for him!!

I love this small appliance! Yes, it is a throwback to the 80s, but such a great help for quick lunches!!! 

Baked Buttermilk Donuts: Yum!

When you have a hankering for cake donuts...go ahead and make some! 

This morning I helped R. make some Baked Buttermilk Donuts. She did a great job and they are yummy! Fun times with this little lady who is growing up too fast for me!

Christmas is in the Air

It was fun to celebrate the Christmas season at The Lighting of the Arroyo! So pretty!

They Created a Tree

The girls came up with the idea to create an outdoor Christmas tree using our bamboo poles 

and their good 'ole Dad was ready to help.

Cooking for Company

We love having out of town guests! This weekend, my college roommate and three of her young 'uns are making the trek south to see us. Yay! 

I am prepping taco salad fix'ins: browning the ground beef and black beans in the crockpot. Also, I have the wonderful bread machine doing the hard work of prepping the dough for pizzas we will create tomorrow! 

As I prep, I realize how blessed I am, not only to have the modern conveniences for prepping all of these things at once, but blessed by the fact that we get to share it in fellowship with those who are do dear to us.

Can't wait for the conversations and fun we will have as we sit down together to feast in fellowship!!

"Carp"-e Diem

Last evening's spontaneous fishing trip turned out to be quite successful! "Carp"-e diem or should we say "seize the fish"?!?!

E, A, & R were so excited about their catches!

The bigger blessing to the whole evening is the good times with good friends!

SUMMER: Swimming, jumping, swinging, & gaming

For the first time, in our entire homeschool career -- going on our tenth year -- we are taking five weeks off! I am doing this because I recognized the kids and I NEEDED a "sabbatical", if you will. I wanted us to take time to do some enrichment reading and projects...oh and take time to play!
